Founded by psychotherapist Rob Williams, PSYCH-K is a brain integration modality, that transforms self-limiting subconscious beliefs by connecting the conscious and subconscious mind, and equilibrating the brain’s two hemispheres.

A PSYCH-K balance fosters a “Whole Brain State”, through various body postures and movements, causing neuronal exchange between the brain’s hemispheres. This enables subconscious programming to easily and quickly change within the subconscious mind, making more cognitive and emotional options available, to cope with life’s challenges.

PSYCH-K borrows from Milton Erickson style hypnotherapy, neuro linguistic programming (NLP), educational and applied kinesiology, and acupressure meridian activation theory. Combining quantum science, evolutionary biology, cognitive behavioral psychology, and neuroscience; Rob Williams applied the power of subconscious belief to change perceptions held in the subconscious mind.

Dr. Bruce Lipton’s (The Biology of Belief) groundbreaking epigenetic theory underlies PSYCH-K. His research revealed that DNA within the cell responds to its environment. Because genes are only “blueprints,” it is our mind (especially the subconscious), that modifies our DNA and manifests destiny.

The Mind

Comprised of 3 separate aspects; the subconscious, conscious and superconscious – the mind shapes our beliefs, both positive and negative.Changing self-limiting beliefs requires awareness of how these aspects are interrelated.

Neuroscience reveals that at least 95 percent of our consciousness is actually subconscious. Nearly all human behavior originates in the subconscious mind, where attitudes and perception are shaped. Addressing the subconscious is required for deep and lasting change, because it guards outworn childhood conditioning, which strongly influences us as adults.

Although the conscious mind appears to motivate us, it drives less than 5 percent of our thoughts and actions. Compared with the subconscious mind, it can only process 1 to 3 events simultaneously. In contrast, the subconscious mind processes thousands of events at a time!

Finally, the superconscious mind is our all-knowing higher self, guiding us with universal wisdom, and having unlimited processing capacity. PSYCH-K utilizes and synthesizes the mind’s 3 unique aspects in the balancing process, to achieve the “Whole Brain State.”

The Brain

A PSYCH-K balance integrates the 2 different functions the left and right hemispheres of the brain. The left one analyzes, using logic and reason; the right one synthesizes, using emotion and intuition. Normally, the twin hemispheres operate interdependently, however, stressful experiences may trigger one to dominate over the other.

Although the brain’s natural ability is to use both hemispheres simultaneously, stress can be stored in only one. This hemispheric disequilibrium may “trap” emotionally charged experiences in only one-half of the brain. Subsequently, the brain may over-identify with only one of its hemispheres, when similar traumatic events occur.

A PSYCH-K balance simultaneously activates both brain hemispheres to reestablish equilibrium and create the “Whole Brain State.” This state reduces subconscious resistance to changing self-limiting beliefs, and opens communication between the conscious and subconscious mind.
